Dr. Ray T. Chow at Elements Dental in Victoria, BC, is a general dentist who has extensive training in Restorative and cosmetic dentistry, dental implants and orthodontics and is a graduate of the University of British Columbia.
He has been a dentist since 1993 and since then, he has not stopped improving himself.
After receiving training in Certified Medical Acupuncture from the University of Alberta in 1996 under the mentorship of Dr. Steven Aung, Dr. Chow went on to take part in advanced training programs in Implantology (Pacific Institute for Advanced Education, Vancouver, BC) and Orthodontics from The Academy of GP Orthodontics (Rockwell, TX).
He is also a graduate and mentor at the world renowned Kois Center (Seattle, WA) where he mentors dentists who want to take dentistry to the highest level.
Dr. Chow regularly attends courses across the world to learn modern evidence-based and biologic techniques. He has studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and energy healing. He is grounded in the principles of loving kindness and compassion.
Because of training in multiple areas of dentistry, he can provide multiple treatment options that combine different areas of dentistry. Most treatments including
Orthodontics, Implants and Cosmetic Dentistry can be done in one location and by the same team. The use of acupuncture and other healing modalities are often blended with modern technologies in everyday practice.
The comfort level for Dr. Chow’s patients is of the highest importance. With this in mind, Dr. Chow and his team always make sure that every procedure is painless, quick and comfortable.
The technologies used in Elements Dental office are often developed for this purpose, as they allow procedures to be completed in a shorter amount of time and often in one appointment. These technologies include computer-assisted design/manufacturing, lasers, and digital technologies.
For anxious patients: Acupuncture is sometimes used for anxiety and Claustrophobia, painless needle techniques, IV sedation and laughing gas. Some procedures may also be done with lasers without the use of needles.

Dr. Ray Chow spends time meditating and practicing Qi Gong, an ancient form of exercise and healing that focuses on concentrated breathing and energy flows. These exercises help his approach to his practice with spirit and compassion.
